Mr. Nikoui has over 38 years of full-time experience in the Criminal Justice Information System as a Forensic Science practitioner professional with Law Enforcement Agencies. His career spans increasing responsibility in both the Independent Identification Process and Management of the Law Enforcement Forensic Identification Services Unit, as well as Training and Supervising Forensic Identification Specialists and Crime Scene Investigators.

He began his career at the Oakland Police Department Criminalistics Division where he was responsible for the analysis of physical evidence in the areas of latent prints and controlled substances. Several years later he moved to the Santa Clara County Crime Laboratory where he currently performs casework in latent print processing and controlled substances. He has trained several criminalists in latent print processing and supervised the validation of a new latent print processing technique. Over his career, he has worked on thousands of latent print cases.
Mr. Matin Brian Nikoui has received a Master of Forensic Science degree from the National University. He also graduated from the San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science, concentrated in Biology. He has completed two years of forensic science training at the Mission Valley Regional Occupational Program in Fremont, California. He also has completed a 14-months long internship program in the DNA unit of San Mateo County Sheriff’s Crime Laboratory and almost a year of employment as a Criminalist I with the Santa Cruz Sheriff Crime Laboratory. Currently, Matin is now employed as a Lab Associate II, GMP at Synthego Corporation in Redwood City California.
Matin has been working part-time at the Nikoui and Associates firm since 2014, conducting evidence processing, digital image enhancements, fingerprint evaluation and comparisons, and many other related administrative and technical tasks.
Since 2015, he has been a member of the International Association for Identification.
